Walking with Purpose- For the Heart, From the Heart ❤️‍🩹

This August, I'm walking over 7,000 steps a day to raise funds for Australians affected by heart disease. But this isn't just a fundraiser to me, it's something deeply personal.

Some of the people I love most have quietly carried heart conditions. I've seen the strength it takes to live with that kind of weight: the hospital visits, the waiting, the silent worry that follows you home. When it touches your family, it never really leaves you. It stays in the background of everything you do, shaping your thoughts, your choices, your future.

A passion of mine has always been cardiology. I'm currently studying clinical science at university and I look forward to building a future career in medicine. The heart is more than just the body's most vital muscle. It holds everything! Our love, our pain, our memories, our prayers. It carries the weight of what matters most! 

I truly believe God has set this as a higher calling for me. He's been guiding me through every step, teaching me that healing isn't just clinical, it's deeply human. Jesus didn't overlook those who were hurting. He stopped for them. He wept with them. He healed them. And He loved without condition.

That's the kind of life I want to live, not just one of knowledge, but of kindness.

"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." — Matthew 25:40

This verse reminds me: no act of love is ever wasted. Every step I take this month is for someone's father, mother, sibling, friend, and for every beating heart still holding on.

This fundraiser is one small way I can honour that calling. One step at a time for the people I love, for the people you love, and for a future where hearts can keep beating strong.
